Ain’t skared?

Perfect: the most commonly used version of this word in English means:
conforming absolutely to the description or definition of an ideal type.
Excellent….beyond improvement.
Entirely without any flaws, defects or weakness.

This definition of PERFECT, this form of the word, is the rebar that holds the fear of man together. It’s the glue. It’s the form and the concrete and the water needed to pour the foundations of envy, jealousy, hate, depression, covetous, anger, low self worth, into our thinking.

Three points about the fear of man:

1. The fear of man alters, steals from and even destroys the you that God created you to be.

I FEAR MAN! YOU FEAR MAN! Don’t even lie about it…not to others and not to yourself. What you think others think about you IS important to you! It’s part of our human condition, our sin nature to struggle with this rebar in our lives…
What would it look like though, if somehow we could walk where Moses walked in our thinking and our fear of what others are thinking?

Moses and God’s conversation: Exodus 33:12-17

12 Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, ‘Take these people up to the Promised Land.’ But you haven’t told me whom you will send with me. You call me by name and tell me I have found favor with you. 13 Please, if this is really so, show me your intentions so I will understand you more fully and do exactly what you want me to do. Besides, don’t forget that this nation is your very own people.” 14 And the LORD replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses. I will give you rest — everything will be fine for you.” 15 Then Moses said, “If you don’t go with us personally, don’t let us move a step from this place. 16 If you don’t go with us, how will anyone ever know that your people and I have found favor with you? How else will they know we are special and distinct from all other people on the earth?” 17 And the LORD replied to Moses, “I will indeed do what you have asked, for you have found favor with me, and you are my friend.”

Did you catch it? Verse 16: “If you don’t go with us, how will anyone know that your people no I have found favor with you? How else will they know we are special and distinct from all other people on the earth? Moses knew it was Gods presence that would make them separate from any other.

Ok, that was Moses. We follow Jesus right? He rescued us, he saved us, he died for us right? Ok. Then what did HE say about us? What is he still saying?

Disclaimer: this is only for Christians. This doesn’t apply to anyone who has not received Jesus as their rescuer! Knowing about him, even respecting him is not the same as being his.

But if you are HIS then know this: It is Gods’ presence IN You that makes you special, stand out, different! It’s Gods presence in you that moves you closer to the YOU that was created in the first place!

Look at John 14:16-18
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. 18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

A man might buy me a diamond ring, but Christ bought for me the right to have God’s presence with me! In me, leading and teaching me! Don’t leave the diamond of God’s presence in the showcase at the store! Accept it. Have it. See it. Feel it. Wear it. Let others around you stare in awe at it. It makes you different. It makes you special! It is the sign to the whole world that you are loved. You ARE different because you have the very presence of God in you!

Do not let the fear of man in you, rob from you, alter you, or steal from you the YOU God created! Show off His love for you girlfriend!
